Winter snowflakes

by Ellie Fitzpatrick
(London, Ontario, Canada)

I knit this hat specifically for my 8mo daughter. I wanted something feminine, but not pink. And I think that the snowflakes do just that. After I finished the hat I realized it needed the chin strap because she kept pulling it off!

I used 4mm double pointed needles with Pattons Decor worsted weight yarn. I like this yarn because it is a nice wool/acrylic blend that is both warm and washable.

I did not use a pattern just my own experience from having made many hats in the past.

After I finished the hat I needed to add the chin strap because dear daughter does not like to keep it on! It only took me three days to finish.

I also made matching mitts to go with that I think are fantastic!

So cute! I, too, love how it is feminine, but not pink
