Welcome to the world Max Louis!

This is a 42" x 42" hand pieced and hand quilted 100% cotton baby quilt for my nephew Max. I created the pattern from my own imagination. It has 9 blocks -- 2 toys (crayons and blocks), 2 celestial (sun and star), 2 nature (tree and ladybug), 2 structures (boat and house -- I'm an engineer, after all), and the center one with Max's name and birthdate in both English and Hebrew embroidered on it.

I tried to make each block have a special quilting pattern to it. The tree has green grass quilted around it. The water next to the boat has waves, the block has letters on each side, and on it went. My favorite (and Max's) is the lady bug, which has button spots and googly eyes. I wanted to use bright bold colors.

I've made 3 quilts before this one, but this was my very first baby project. It was great to hear that my nephew would wake up from him naps and talk to the quilt hanging on the wall until someone came to get him.
