The cheapest wrap around!

by Mandy M

How's this for a $5 wrap!

How's this for a $5 wrap!

I am a new babywearer and I had a pouch as my first carrier. It was great but I saw a video of how to wrap a Moby and was fascinated. Being a broke new mom, I went to the $1 fabric table at Walmart and got 5 yards of wonderful purple stretchy fabric. I sliced the width to 20 inches and started wrapping! Now I'm hooked! I have made several other wraps since then but this was my first and is still my favorite! I get stopped everywhere wearing it and I point them all in the direction of the $1 fabric and YouTube!

I did this too!
by: Jana

I love my wraps too!! Found 5 yards of fabric for 1.99 (total, not per yard) at a thrift store and was able to make 2 adult wraps (20" wide) and 1 kids wrap (15" wide and same 5 yard length) for dolls!! The kids love the wrap as much as I do :)

You rock! Thanks so much!
by: Melissa O.

I am expecting my 4th and am fascinated by this type of wrap. I carried my now 21 month old in a Jeep front carrier pack but wanted a wrap so badly. I was just unwilling to pay $40 for one. Now with a new baby on the way I am dying to get a wrap and even considered spending an absurd amount of money for a piece of cloth. Then I had a thought, maybe I could make my own... So I did a search on google for done advice and found you! I am so inspired and excited! Walmart here I come.

Fabric
by: Elena

I just bought my 5 yards but walmart didnt have a fabric section so had to go to a fabric store. I got 5 yards by 60 inches so I have enough to make 3 count them 3 at the same price as buying 1 of the "sleepy wraps" that are sold online. He He I am happy hope the baby will be too!!!

Wonderful. I wore my last one in a front backpack. Whatever you call them!!?? I just found out I am expecting again, and was looking for a way to breastfeed in public. I think your sling/wrap is perfect.

Thank you--Genius!!

Deserves it!
by: Jesse

This is an inspirational entry because it really shows that you don't have to spend $$$ on a fancy foreign piece of cloth to have a great and functional wrap.

My vote!
by: Sandra

So far, this one gets my vote. Sure, it isn't fancy but it really IS what babywearing is all about, like another commenter said. I love it that sometimes the thrifty way ends up being just perfect. Plus, you'd look great in that purple storch!
