Please describe and tell us about your baby blanket.

I made this blanket for my 2 yr old neice for Christmas. It is super soft and the perfect size for snuggling on the couch.

What yarn and needles did you use and where did you get them? Why did you pick this yarn?
This is knitted with a double strand of Lolita yarn in Iris. The verigated color adds a striping effect when knitted. I purchased the yarn and the size 13 strait needles from Stiches and Stuff in Longview.

Tell us more about your design. Was it inspired by another pattern? Why did you pick those colors?

This blanket was designed by the ladies that own Stiches and Stuff. It is great for beginners because it only requires the knit stich. It comes in three sizes carseat, crib and large. I make the smaller size for baby showers. I loved this color yarn when I found it at the store and purchased 7 skeins not knowing what I would do with it. Luckily my sister had a little girl shortly there after, I don't think my boys would have liked it as much.

Did you run into any problems when knitting your baby blanket? How long did it take you to knit?

This blanket took a while because I had other projects going as well. I knitted off and on for a few months and then finished just in time to wrap it for Christmas. If I am in a time crunch it goes pretty fast and can be completed in a week.
