sun and earth baby quilt

This is actually a hooded baby quilt, that can be used both as a simple blanket or as a warmer garment for the baby.
The front is made of cotton fabrics, chosen in earthy and sunny tones, and the back has the special touch of white wool mixed with cashmere.

I chose to handquilt it, with a thick wool yarn and large, very relaxed stitches, that give the piece a more fluffy and handmade feeling.

The batting is organic cotton and it was binded with a brown fabric and round edges. It also has a small velvet ribbon, to hold a toy or something special for the baby.
