Stumpy Whirlygiggle

This quilt was made as a donation for the KU Medical Center pediatric unit.
The whirlygiggle is a modern variation of the traditional pinwheel block. I adapted the pattern from Michelle at Greetingarts hence the addition of the stumpy...mine are a bit stumpier than the originals.
The fabrics in the quilt are a combination of fabrics from my stash and Jackie Shapiro's Modern Grace. I think the colors are modern and the fabrics have a funky feel.
It is machine pieced and machine quilted in a random grid. It has a yellow "peeper" that frames the whirlygiggles along with a blue border and binding. The back is a bright lime green with a bit of blue to make the back soft and cozy.
