Stories to Tell

I made this quilt for my sweet boy. I finished hand sewing the binding when I was having contractions. The pattern is from "The Quiltmaker's Gift" and is called "Children's Delight." I machine pieced the top and free motion quilted it fairly tightly because I like the "old fashioned" look that this creates. The story book fabric is Robert Kauffman, and a dear friend gave it to me. The minute she gave it to me, I knew how I would use it. The whimsical story that is created by each child and animal in the blocks is magical.

This quilt's magic will age with the child. I like that it is not your typical "baby" theme or colors. This adds to it's unique qualities. I also like the simplicity of the design which allows the fabric to tell it's own story through the magical pictures.
