Rosetree

Please describe and tell us about your baby blanket.

This tree of life has blossomed out in roses! A cabled trunk from roots to branches with a crown of lovely little roses. Bands of more blossoms among rows of eyelets lead to a lacy, scalloped edge (with more roses) that is finished with picots. 45X45".

What yarn and needles did you use and where did you get them? Why did you pick this yarn?
Soft acrylic baby yarn for washability and no 3 circular needles.

Tell us more about your design. Was it inspired by another pattern? Why did you pick those colors?

I had dreamed up the little eyelet rose design and so a whole tree of roses and pink would be perfect for a baby girl!

Did you run into any problems when knitting your baby blanket? How long did it take you to knit?

Not really a problem but I had to figure out a way to balance the cabled trunk of the tree with an openwork near it.

Anything else you'd like to share about your baby blanket or knitting in general?

I loved this work, sweet and delicate for a little new human child.
And time is flying by when you love something - 5 weeks went by choosing stitches, counting, trying out - yes and ripping out and knitting again!
Baby, toddler or grandma would love this little afghan too!

What a charming piece! It's so nice to see all this craft, which doesn't also overwhelm the simplicity of the blanket.

sacred
by: Margaret

This beautiful blankie is precious. I believe using objects for our daily needs that are imbued with rich symbolism and a loving intention raises our awareness of the sacredness all around us. I can wait to be a grandma, but when the time comes, this would be the perfect gift.

This unique blanket is charming with it's little roses and and Tree of Life central motif. Certainly this knitter is both experienced and skilled to execute this creative design of tiny stitches. Sweet and cozy delight!

A skillful, good luck design!
by: Kate Farrell

The Tree of Life in the center of this blanket is so very well done with its strong twining trunk and uplifted branches--good luck for health and prosperity for the baby girl. This message is repeated in the rose patterns all around this delicate piece. Priceless!

Annemarie made my baby a blanket too and it is impeccable and gorgeous work. This one is beautiful and it has such soul. My daughter still has it with her every time she is in the stroller - it is super soft and cuddly in addition to being beautiful. She has true talent!
