Quilt for Stella Jr

This quilt started with the impulse purchase of a floral fat quarter pack, which is not something I would typically buy, but I was trying to think like a baby girl(?). As I started to work with my original idea, I started to feel like it was too busy, I really wanted something calm for the baby. I went to the quilt store and found the gorgeous yellow fabric, as well as a 1/4 yard remnant of the pink. As I was laying all the fabrics together to stare at them, I realized I liked the off kilter horizontal stripe look so I just went with that.

This is my second quilt, and took about a month of Saturday mornings. I've not yet gotten comfortable with free motion quilting, so I quilted straight lines along the fabric seams, and used a fancy leaf stitch pattern from my machine.

The quilt was machine quilted and the finished size is roughly 40x50 inches.
