Pink alphabet blanket

Baby ABC Blanket
Please describe and tell us about your baby blanket.
I crocheted this for my niece, who is a fashionista at the age of 2, and coos excitedly whenever she sees pink things.
What yarn and needles did you use and where did you get them? Why did you pick this yarn?
I used an h hook and 3 cones (700 yards each!) of Peaches and Creme cotton. I chose cotton for the ease of care, but this blanket ended up being more like a rug in weight and dimensions!
Tell us more about your design. Was it inspired by another pattern? Why did you pick those colors?
This is from a Coats and Clark pattern I found on Ravelry call Baby ABCs blanket. I chose pink because my niece is a pink kind of girl.
Did you run into any problems when knitting your baby blanket? How long did it take you to knit?
I had no problems knitting this blanket, other than the tedium of miles and miles of single crochet. The alphabet bobbles were fun and made it less boring. However, the all-bobble rows were murder. I would advise anyone making this to use a superwash wool or cotton-wool blend. I'm embarassed to say that this took me almost a year to make! It went into several periods of hibernation... I gave it to my niece for her first birthday.
