Newborn Pixie Hat & Pants

Pixie Hat & Pants

I sewed this newborn sized pixie hat and the pants using an old tee shirt. I used the actual shirt hem for the bottom of the pants (just like in your tutorial for the baby yoga pants) and also for the hat.

I didn't use an actual pattern, I just traced a hat and a pair of pants that I already had purchased. The waistband of the pants is elastic in a tube and the dark brown trim is some extra cotton quilt binding I had laying around.

I love the way the pointed pixie hat turned out! I did the point intentionally. I've seen other hats where you do a point and then tie it in a knot, but I like the way the point is and flops over when worn.

The best part is that I used only things I had on hand for this outfit! I didn't have to buy a single thing!
