Eating leaves Playing in the leaves Franklin and Beauty

I knitted this hat for my eight-month old son, as a replacement for the hat his nana made when he was born. I wanted something nice and warm to cover his ears.

I knit this hat using Sublime Organic Merino Wool. It's so soft and toasty! I chose an off-white and a navy blue, knitted on size 5mm circular needle, with the earflaps on size 4mm.

The pattern is a free download from Ravelry, called Thorpe. It's knit in the round from the top down. I found it a very quick, easy pattern. It only took about three hours.

I hope my little Franklin's head doesn't grow out of his new hat before the end of winter, but if it does, I would definitely make this hat again.
