modern elephants quilt

The inspiration for this quilt came from the hand-printed fabric by umbrella prints. My good friend is due in January, so I made her this all organic quilt. She's not finding out the sex, hence the gender neutral color scheme. You can see the design is quite simple, which I think looks more modern. After machine piecing the front, I attached the cozy backing by stitching in the ditch. I also machine quilted circles to mimic the shape of the elephants. The binding was made using the same organic cotton. I hand stitched the reverse side binding so it's invisible. The entire process took about 5 hours.
