Macy's Gnome Quilt
by Kelley Brooks
I made this quilt in anticipation of my baby- who I at the time I had no idea of his/her sex but was leaning towards a boy. Well, I was wrong, so this quilt ended up being for my baby girl, Macy. She doesn't seem to mind the blues, which is a good thing because her Mama is a little short on time these days so the quilt is here to stay. ;) This was not the first quilt I have ever made, but I am a huge beginner so it was a stretch for me. Everything was done on the machine- and it took me several months as the pregnancy-laziness was kicking in full force at the time. I used Heather Ross' gnome and mushroom fabric and tried to bring in different blues to go with the gnome fabric but also some reds to bring out the mushrooms. I used Denyse Schmidt's Katie Jump Rope fabric for the binding. I was pleased with the outcome and learned a lot along the way! ;)
