Lizzie's Garden

My daughter's oldest friend has always loved flowers and the color green so when she had her second baby girl I made this quilt for her.

The fabric is a floral stripe that I played with and came up with this way of making squares from it. I fussy cut triangles and sewed them carefully to make them match.

I liked how the squares are all different. They looked like little formal gardens so I added the green borders to enhance the effect.

I quilted it myself with vines and leaves in a green variegated thread to keep with the garden theme.

It was easy to make and took me a couple of days to complete. It is about 40"X40" square. A detail picture can be seen here.
