kitchy floral lovey

A lovey is a very small quilt (15"x15" in this case) meant to be used as a security blanket. This lovey is made from 3" strips. The design is very simple, which I think makes it look more modern.

I love that pink color because it reminds me of watermelon bubblegum which I haven't chewed for 15 years, but can remember the flavor of so distinctly. After piecing the top, I used cotton batting and minkee (which is a very cozy fabric) as the back. I machine quilted the floral pattern using a straight stitch which is harder than you might think. I used 3" strips for the binding, and finished it by hand.
