I Held It In My Hand Baba!

Our little guy, Isaac, went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, when he was about 2 years old. He loved every minute of time in the Kids' Splash Zone. When we got to the tide pool he got to touch starfish, urchins, and (oh, my!)hermit crabs. This left such an impression on him. "I Held It In My Hand Baba!" he said later. (Baba is what he calls me)

This was the first experience where he kept trying to recall the story and tell everyone he knew. Well, finally we decided to make a little "story quilt" to help him tell the tale. We searched together for pictures of hermit crabs. He picked out the colors and the backing fabric (it has seahorses) and I was off creating an applique and pieced little quilt for him to remember he trip by.
