Please describe and tell us about your baby blanket.

My best cousin Nick was having a baby and I was designated his godmother so I wanted to make him something special. When it was done however, I had a super selfish moment and decided to keep it for myself, if I ever have babies in this life time. Baby Theo got loads of hats and coats instead.

What yarn and needles did you use and where did you get them? Why did you pick this yarn?

I used LBY Vanna's choice yarns that I had purchased at Michaels and had a huge stash of. I decided these would be perfect for a stripey surprise. I used Beige, Honey, Dusty Green, Terracotta and Mustard, and knitted on size 9 needles.

Tell us more about your design. Was it inspired by another pattern? Why did you pick those colors?

I love browns, yellows and reds and wanted to make something that would incorporate all these colours. I wanted something fun and new because I had just started knitting after 15 years and I found a lovely pattern on Ravelry: Rainbow Throw by Donna Yacino

Did you run into any problems when knitting your baby blanket? How long did it take you to knit?

I took 2 weeks to knit this and absolutely love every minute of it except for the weaving the ends in bit.

Anything else you'd like to share about your baby blanket or knitting in general?

I love to knit. I used to do it when I was a kid but stopped when I started high school. I went on a trip to Solvang in May and walked into a knitting store and since then I have not stopped knitting. It is the only thing that relaxes me and I take so much pleasure in seeing peoples reactions when they receive a beautiful hand made item.

by: Yorma

i'd want him/her to have this blanket. it seems like it'd be good for evena baby boy or a baby girl :) and the hoels arent big so i'd feel comfortnable leaving myh baby with it. sometimes these balnkets seem dangerous! this one is wonderful though.

Love it!
by: Kris

I love the color combination of the blanket! It reminds me of a knit stuffed animal my mother put me to sleep with when I was a baby, its a keepsake I would have loved to have today to pass on. I can't imagine the workmanship that went into making it...I wish I had the patience to do that kind of work. JOB WELL DONE:), this is the kind of keepsake that passes down through generations.

One lucky baby!
by: Johnny

I'd actually give this baby blanket more than 5 stars if I could. I was with Lisa while she was knitting it and saw the love that went into making it. I even snuck away with it myself and had a little snuggle (it's super comfy), wishing I was the lucky baby myself. I'm actually a fully grown adult though and, honestly, am a little big for it; but whoever becomes the eventual owner of this masterpiece is one lucky baby!
