When I hear a baby announcement of a friend, I immediately start thinking about what I'm going to make! I ask what their nursery will look like. Do they have a theme? Do they have a name picked out? I even think about their own hobbies, style and interests. I let this guide me and I adapt one of the many great projects below.
That is the best part about homemade baby gifts, isn't it? Other than the part that gifts made by hand are made with love, of course. The fun part is that you can alter any of these projects below to personalize them and create the perfect unique gift!
Okay, so there are over 500 make it for baby projects on this website - and growing! This page just holds my favorites for gifting:
Make Gifts for Wearing
Bibs are always a great choice as they are cute and functional! Handmade bibs are one of those great items to tuck in with other items purchased off the registry, like a high chair or a set of utensils or a sippy cup.
This one shown here is a pocket bib, but I also like making this adorable Birdie Bib for new little ones.
Our free printable baby pants pattern is always a classic for both boys and girls. If you don't sew, you can personalize onesies with patches, iron ons, applique and stencils. Consider sewing the pants and then embellishing a matching onesie! A pack of plain onesies or sleepers can be purchased pretty cheaply and this also makes a fun baby shower craft project.
