Green and Yellow Blanket

by Jessica Haymann
(Devine, TX)

This blanket was a gift to a friend, for her first baby. It is crocheted, using granny squares in an alternating color pattern.

I used a G hook, and Caron Simply Soft yarn as I had the colors I needed already. I had used the same yarn for previous blankets, so I knew how much I would need.

I used a pattern found on the yarn label, changing the colors to suit this particular project. I had used variations of this pattern for several other blankets, and I enjoy making new variations. My friend did not find out the baby's gender ahead of time, so had chosen yellow and green for the nursery as a "gender neutral" theme.

I didn't come across any problems with this blanket, and overall, it took me about four days, in between other housework

I quite enjoy making these baby blankets, and intend to try knitting some in the future as well.
