Giddy-Up

Quilt for Krue
This Quilt has a Smooth Cotton Body--but to make it More Snuggly, The Borders are Thick Soft Flannel! And the binding and backing are flannel too. I cut the retro cowboys in 2 sizes of squares and cut the black star fabric settings in different lengths--I made this up as I went along. So the rows were 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 inches wide alternating. This was my first time machine quilting --so I practiced on a long, narrow scrap strip I put together (I later cut and bound this practice strip into BIBS!) It was so much fun doing the lasso loop-di-loos all over in primary variegated thread. And I think if you look closely you can see the red flannel feet of the vintage pattern little horse I made out of the star fabric. I am just a little past a beginner, I think. |
