Forget Me Not

This is one of my first quilts. I made this pretty basic crib-sized blanket for my second child, my son. I called it Forget Me Not because he has been a crazy handful to say the least. It is almost as if he is making me pay for having an easy-going child the first time around.

I made this for his 1st birthday using my serger and sewing machine. The best part about this is not the quilt design, or the skill level---but the fabric. The blue penguin/bear print fabric was bought at a second hand store in the form of a baby bunting bag (made by Roots) and although it was super cute, I knew I needed to have that fabric for my blanket. I then proceeded to cut it all up into the biggest size squares I could and then piece it together with the softest beige and brown fleece that the fabric store had.

The best part is that it is all made of fleece and after I finished I then thought about how hot my son will be as he normally sweats with just a tiny flannel blanket on!
