Testing out the blanket! Blanket in action!

Please describe and tell us about your baby blanket.

The blanket was a surprise for a friend of mine from as far back as middle school. She was having her first baby and we hadn't seen each other in years since I had moved across country. It was a complete surprise. She and her new Marlee-bug were so appreciative!

What yarn and needles did you use and where did you get them? Why did you pick this yarn?
I used Comfy Worsted by Knit Picks in Honey Dew. I knew her baby was going to be a girl, but my friend has never been super girlie so I went with a feminine and young green to off set all the massive amounts of pink and purple everyone else would be getting her. I wanted to pick something she would easily be able to care for as well and be able to use as much as she wanted without having to worry about destroying a delicate yarn.
I knit the blanket on Harmony needles and loved it. It was one of the first few times I had used these needles and I haven't looked back since!

Tell us more about your design. Was it inspired by another pattern? Why did you pick those colors?
The patterns is by Lykkefanten on Ravelry called Baby Chalice. It's a wonderful pattern that is very simple but looks beautiful.

Did you run into any problems when knitting your baby blanket? How long did it take you to knit?
The only issue I had was I couldn't memorize the pattern. Because of this I did end the blanket a few repeats early. It took about a month because I was only able to work on it hen I was able to focus.

Anything else you'd like to share about your baby blanket or knitting in general?
I loved knitting a baby blanket for my friend and hope she can use it for years to come! I feel like blankets are a great gift for someone you care about.
