Please describe and tell us about your baby blanket.

I used my "Bubbles Baby Blanket" stitch to create this blanket for my daughter as a "keepsake" for her to have. I had been sick and wanted her to have something to hand down to perhaps her child(ren)

What yarn and needles did you use and where did you get them? Why did you pick this yarn?
I chose Lion Brand Cotton Ease in the "old skool" colors because I wanted something bright and cheery, perfect for a little girl. I also chose the yarn for it's care ease, but also the cotton/acrylic content so it could be used year round.

I used a Clover brand H Hook

Tell us more about your design. Was it inspired by another pattern? Why did you pick those colors?

My own Bubbles Pattern and the colors were so bright and cheery, perfect for my daughter

Did you run into any problems when knitting your baby blanket? How long did it take you to knit?
It took me four months to do it because I did it on and off and because I had trouble finding the "old skool" colors of Cotton Ease. I also designed the pattern and had to make the rectangles first because it depended on how much of each color I had collected, the center was done as a square because of the amount of yarn I had, as well as the edging. I used the Bubbles stitch for the blocks, the center was done in dc, the edging was done with several rounds of sc and finished off with a shell stitch. The entire blanket was winged and I just kind of went with it.

Anything else you'd like to share about your baby blanket or knitting in general?

My daughter is now 11 and still drags it on her bed when she's cold. She still adores the colors! The picture it looks lopsided, but I swear it was a perfect rectangle.
