Diethe's quilt

My niece asked me to make a quilt for a new family member. Since I didn't have much time I made this very simple but effective quilt.

For the colors I choose the colors of the birth announcements. Browns and pink. I decided to make it in the very pretty fabric of Joel Dewberry.

Simple rectangles with the bird fabric and from all the other fabric of that range I made borders. To add something personal, a wish of my niece, I added the name of the little girl, Diethe, in patchwork letters.

In the center of the bird blocks I quilted a heart and all the seams where quilted in the ditch. This quilt is completely handsewn and handquilted.
