Deegan's quilt

I made this quilt for my newest grandson, Deegan. My son-in-law loves frogs so he wanted me to incorporate frogs in the theme. I chose bright, funky fabrics because I wanted the baby to be surrounded by vibrant colours.

The design was all my own, and as I love using Perle threads to quilt I chose bright colours to match the fabrics. I embroidered "D" in the centre, as well as frogs around it and more frogs in one of the top borders.

The quilt is about 48 x 36 in (they live 4,000 klms from me so I can't measure it, but I think that is pretty close to the right size}. All the quilting and embroidery is done by hand, but the piecing was done by machine, and all the fabrics are 100% cotton. I LOVED making this quilt!

Brilliant!

Not only does the Quilt look fantastic, but also I can tell that Jennifer Reynolds, the maker of this quilt, put in alot of time, effort and love for her grandson, producing an amazing work of art. Who wouldnt love somebody like her in their lives? I know I sure would. Its beautiful, bright, detailed, made with love, also the fabric and colours are co ordinated really well. Something like that is absolutely priceless!!:-) 10 out of 10 for sure.

Wow, what a wonderful design! And What an amazing talent the maker of this quilt has. I have to say that after looking over all the different quilts made, this was the quilt I believe to be exceptional in every way and the very best. Deegan is a very lucky boy to have somebody make such a gorgeous quilt as this.

I can imagaine that little Deegan would love this quilt, the colours are amazing, and with little eyes that love colour he is sure to enjoy this for a long time. Well done on a beautiful quilt you really have done a fantastic job.

I think this quilt is amazing. It is quite easy to see that a grandmothers love is right through this. Time hasnt been an issue, creativity is in abundance. Little Deegan will cherish this forever, he will love the colours and no doubt it will travel with him everywhere. Well done on an amazing quilt.

A thoughtful design with differential transitions from top to bottom versus side to side. The alternating patterns and differing colours will visually engage your grandson for hours. The hand embroidered 'D' in the centre provide that extra touch of personality to his blanket. Well done.

Deegan will undoubtedly have wonderful dreams as he sleeps comfortably under this cotton quilt and will likely treasure it his entire lifetime, knowing it was stitched with love by his grandmother. I can imagine that this will likely be tucked around Deegan's baby one day.
