Paxton's Bee's

Paxton's Bee's

This quilt was a "likeness" from a picture my daughter found online. I tryed my hand at applique for the first time and was thrilled with results. I used Stitch Witchery to iron on bee bodies and embroidered the antennas and "trails". Machine quilting "stitch-in-the-ditch" was used to join front and back.

I also made matching, Bumpers, carrier cover, crib skirt, valance, and dresser scarf.

Instructions for Applique' BEES NEW
by: Brenda

To create the BEES-
Follow instructions on Fusible Web or Stitch Witchery. I made a template for Bees from a light weight cardboard.
1) cut out shapes from black material (with fusible web already ironed on.
2) remove paper backing on fusible web and place on desired material - iron on according to directions.
3) applique on with desired stitch - I used a satin stitch on machine.
4) premark lines in bee bodies with material friendly marker or white pencil.
5) Embroider bee body lines, antenna and bee trails.
Happy Sewing and good luck!

Bumblebees-Brenda Smith
by: GinnyO

This quilt is very nicely done, have seen it. I just do wish she could post the entire grouping that she made for the grandchild's nursery. It is the same theme and is quite impressive. Besides this quilt I have seen others of hers and she does excellent work. Plan on having her show me how to begin. Keep up the lovely work, Brenda.

Great Technique and Craftmanship
by: Cara

The quilt has great detail and technique, Brenda put a lot of love into this project and personal touch. It resembles the quilt her daughter saw online, but I would pick this quilt 10 times over the other. I have seen this quilt in person as I work with her and this is only one of the AWESOME creations she has made. The stitching makes this unique and the bumble bees have great detail.

Delightfully Different
by: Karen Reichardt

This project could be completed before the baby was born. I would be perfect for a boy or a girl and the bright fun yellow is a great change from pale pink and basic blue.
