Bold and Colorful Baby Quilt

The bold and colorful baby quilt was originally made for a church youth fundraiser. I used Robert Kaufman Kona cottons. The fabric used for the binding is by Amy Butler.

I did not use a pattern. I drew my pattern on graph paper. I made this quilt by drawing my squares on some thin interfacing. Then I followed the paper piecing technique. This really helped me make the squares a lot quicker. I do not like measuring and cutting strips. I then added a 2" strip using different pieces of leftover fabric. The backside is a solid gray Kona fabric. I drew a maze design on each block then machine quilted it. The backside of the quilt shows the maze design.

I then washed the baby quilt to give it the "puckered" look. The finished size is approximately 29" x 34".

It took me about a week to finish the quilt.

This is so beautiful! Wish I had a quilt like this even without a baby in the house.
