Best Loved Toys for Dylan

I sew every week with two friends. We each decided to make a crib-sized quilt using a pattern from The Little Box of Baby Quilts by Jenny Wilding Cardon. We chose the Baby Essentials Pocket Quilt, but omitted the actual pockets. Each of us chose different fabric and it is amazing how the same pattern can produce very different quilts.

I made a quilt for my first grandson, Dylan. (He is due to arrive any minute now!) I chose mostly Moda fabrics: American Jane - Look & Learn and Harmony Solid Red are the primary lines. (I love the look of their retro fabrics!) The back is solid red.

The quilt took about four sessions to finish (maybe 8 hours total) but it's hard to tell because we have such a good time chatting, too! I quilted it by machine, except for a little patch on the back that reads "to Dylan, from Nana Cheryl, Oct 2008".
