Berrylicious Meltai hybrid

by Melanie
(Brisbane, QLD, Australia)

This wrap turned MT was made from a Wrapstar Berrylicious Wrap (which is made by a WAHM in NZ) that I bought on our own FSOT board. It was loved and well used but in wonderful condition, 5m long and 50cm wide. A tad long and too narrow for me. It had an appointment with the rotary cutter before it even made it to my door!

I am a wrapper at heart, so made sure that my straps were nice and wide - like my much loved BBO! The strap length is super long - 220cm! I love the length, it is so versatile and because of the cushy floppiness of the wrap it isnt too bulky at all :). The body of my MT is a square made with a double layer of the wrap, and a hood that is permanently attached to the body. The waistband is lightly padded at the hips so it doesnt cut into my 'love handles' LOL.

The most exciting part of making my MT was definately the first cut - I kept thinking 'Oh I hope Ive mapped this out right!'. Though I dont know if it compares to how I felt when I put my lil man in it. There really is something to be said of something that is made by hand with love, and without much planning!

I love this MT, it is so wonderfully comfortable and best of all - Mr Taj LOVES being in it :). I will be making more!

The BBO link is here!

For this conversion I used the incredible Kimbers' BBO pattern, which you will find on the equally incredible Jan Andreas site - here

http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/bbo.html

and I made a sleephood to go with it :), lightly padded the waist straps but thats all I altered to make Berrylicious.

Enjoy making an awesome home-made BBO!
