Bella's Quilt

by Layla Maclachlan

Front and Back

Front and Back

This quilt was made for my one year old daughter when she moved from our room into her own room.

It was machine quilted and was made from a mix of old and new fabrics, including her grandpa's old shirt. I chose yellows and blues so it would be fresh but not too girly.

I wanted it to be soft and cosy so the backing is a well washed thrifted curtain.

This is my first quilt.

the fact that you used 'grandpa's old chirts' makes it so very special. i have a quilt my great great grandmother made and its all out of their old clothing. I cherish it!
