Baby Star Afghan

Please describe and tell us about your baby blanket.

This is a baby blanket done in a star shape. It's done in acrylic yarn and is a modification of a star washcloth.

What yarn and needles did you use and where did you get them? Why did you pick this yarn?

Red Heart Soft Baby (approx: 1 skein multicolored, 3/4 skein yellow, 1/10 skein green). US 6 needles.

The yarn was what was in my stash.

Tell us more about your design. Was it inspired by another pattern? Why did you pick those colors?

This is based on a washcloth: "NunuYaya Washcloth by Jess Marks-Gale" When I saw the washcloth I thought it would be fun to enlarge to make a baby blanket.

Did you run into any problems when knitting your baby blanket? How long did it take you to knit?

There were no problems other than trying to decide how large to make it.

It took 3-4 weeks but could be done in 1 week.

Anything else you'd like to share about your baby blanket or knitting in general?

I gave it to the mother to be at her community baby shower. The little boy who it was given for loves it. He is now 1 1/2 and it is one of his favorite blankets.

The one point is a different color on purpose. It draws focus to the points of the star.
