A Monkey for My Monkey

This quilt is the very first quilt I have ever made! In all honesty...it's the first thing outside of curtains I have ever sewn as well!

I love the look of whole cloth quilts, but wanted to add something interesting to spice it up. My 14 month old son LOVES monkeys...so that's what I decided to add. I sketched the monkey by hand and appliqued him on (also the first time I have ever appliqued). Then I machine stitched his face to give him some character and quilted the whole thing together using a uniform 3 inch gridding. I added red binding to make the brown and tan color pallette pop.

My son loves his quilt, and I hope you all do too!
