20 Week Ultrasound Blanket

This blanket was casted on right after our 20 week ultrasound where we found out we were having a boy. I had learned to knit about 3 years previous but hadn't knit anything in over a year but I had the desire to knit our baby boy a blanket before he arrived.
I used Red Heart Supersaver because that was what I had still in a box in my closet from my previous knitting endeavors, it was the only "boy" color in the box.
The blue is self explanatory but it had to be a very simple design/free and one color because I only knew the very basics of knitting at the time, just knit and purls. However, I wanted it to look special so the basket weave blocks seemed perfect. I found the pattern online for free.
It took me about 3 months to knit because I would work on it little by little at night before bed.
This blanket means a lot to me because it was the first thing I ever knit my son, who now is turning 3 this month. I look at the pictures of him with it as a baby and it brings back wonderful memories. This is something that has been put in his memory chest and he will be able to keep all his life.
